Oxfam raises record amount in one day

Oxfam GB has raised £600,000 in the first three days after the South Asian floods disaster of 26 December.

According to the BBC, this £600,000 included £200,000 donated on Tuesday 28 December, “the most it has raised in one day”.

According to The Scotsman, The British Red Cross Asia Earthquake and Flood Appeal has already received over £1 million, and the Australian public has already donated 1.4 million Australian dollars (£567,000).
