Scottish international development fundraisers to meet in January

A group of fundraisers at international development organisations in Scotland have announced an open meeting in Glasgow on 10 January 2005.

The fundraisers plan to discuss issues shared by those fundraising for international development agencies, and to “build a community around shared ideals and common goals”.

The meeting takes place against a backdrop of “encouraging funding announcements” made by the Scottish Executive and a donation last week by major donor Tom Hunter.

The meeting will be open to all fundraisers with an interest in international development. This might include members of NIDOS and/or the Institute of Fundraising member, but membership of these bodies is certainly not a requirement.

The first meeting will be held on Monday 10th January 2005 at 13:30 in the Jury’s Inn, Glasgow. Thereafter the group expects to hold quarterly meetings and hold them in other locatons, including Edinburgh, Glasgow and Stirling.

If you are interested in attending this meeting you should contact Mark Kiehlmann at Oxfam by 7 January 2005.
