Directory enquiries service raises over £44,000 for Samaritans

Emotional support charity Samaritans has received over £44,000 from directory enquiries service, One.Tel, since being selected as its charity partner in January 2003.

Over the last year and a half, Samaritans has received one penny per call on all calls made to One.Tel’s directory enquiry number 118 111.

One.Tel’s decided to support Samaritans because they saw a synergy between the two services. Ian El-Mokadem, Managing Director of One.Tel, said: “When people call One.Tel directory enquiries, they have an immediate problem that we can quickly solve. However, many people need more than a phone number to be able to solve their problem, and the time and space offered by Samaritans every day can help in finding a way forward.”
