Commercial refrigeration company Husky Group is offering £10,000 to the individual or group who can convince them they are the most likely to be able to turn that into £100,000 for charity.

After many years of donating fixed amounts to charity the Leicestershire-based company decided to look for ideas to turn one fairly small sum into a much bigger one.

Our aim is to turn £10,000 into at least £100,000″, said Geoff Thomasson, MD of Husky Group. “An individual or a group can use this £10,000 to get their charity event off the ground, produce sponsorship forms, pay for equipment or flights and also publicise their event.”

Husky have called the offer ‘One Big Charity’. “It does not matter how wacky the idea seems,” added Thomasson, “or whether the application is from an individual or a group. The winning idea will be the one with the most potential to turn £10,000 into a much bigger sum.”

If more than one winning idea is received, then Husky reserve the right to split the £10,000 as appropriate. Thomasson added: “I want to stress that no costs incurred by Husky will be deducted from this amount.”
