The Big Draw offers awards of £500 or packs of art materials

The Big Draw, the UK’s biggest free art event, will be held for the fifth year in October 2004, and participating organisations can win one of six £500 awards or packs of Berol art materials.
The Big Draw week takes place from 13 to 20 October 2004, with a particular focus on Saturday 16. It is run by the Campaign for Drawing to help spread the word that drawing can aid observation, communication and invention and, above all, give pleasure.
Libraries, heritage venues, galleries, museums, science centres, shopping centres, colleges, schools and art clubs are all encouraged to host drawing sessions for all ages. If you register your event you will “get guaranteed coverage in The Independent”.
