CAF to report results on Social Enterprise and voluntary sector

CAF (Charities Aid Foundation) is to launch the results of a two-year research project into social enterprise and the voluntary sector on 30 April 2004 in London.

At “Social Enterprise in the Balance?”, CAF will publish the findings of the research, carried out jointly with Manchester University. The study is, says CAF, the first of its kind to explore the challenges and tensions of social enterprise activity. It will make some “radical suggestions” to government and the sector, for developing the support framework for voluntary and community organisations.

The launch will take place during a half-day seminar on 30 April at No 4 Hamilton Place, London. A panel of practitioners and commentators will lead debate, assessing the report’s findings amid moves by government to extend the role of charities and social
enterprises.
