The Cleveland Zoological Society in the USA generated $240,000 online in 2003, a 240% increase on its online income for 2002.

Tara R. Turner of the Cleveland Zoological Society shared her results with the ePhilanthropy Foundation.

The Society launched a new version of its Web site in June 2003 with the intention of increasing online membership purchases, event tickets sales, and donations. Turner believes that the new site succeeds in welcoming “both our $65 members and our $10,000 donors (and everyone in between).”

This jump in income could have been even greater. For example, one unimplemented activity planned for 2004 is to e-mail members when their membership is about to expire and encourage them to renew online.
