Charity Commission updates charity registration advice

The Charity Commission has updated its guidance booklet entitled “Registering as a charity”, reference CC21.

The guidance was last updated in August 2003. The new version updated in December 2003 features a small number of changes.

These reflect the publication of extended example objects on the Commission’s Web site (paragraph 63); further clarification of the circumstances in which the Commission will consider governing documents in draft form (paragraph 89); and changes to the requirements for the stamping of trust deeds following the introduction of Stamp Duty Land Tax on 1 December 2003.

There are also other minor amendments in the text to “make it as up to date as possible.”
