Funding Network grows with Bristol group

The Funding Network, the group of individuals that fund social change causes, is expanding with a new group based in Bristol.

The South West group of The Funding Network is holding its first funding day on 28 February 2004. It’s not a day for fundraisers, unfortunately, since charities and voluntary groups attend by invitation only.

Members of The Funding Network have to commit to giving a minimum of £1,000 per annum through the organisation, and in return the are entitled to bring projects for support to the funding days.

The South West enterprise is being housed as a ring-fenced fund within the Greater Bristol Foundation who, according to The Funding Network, “are very excited at the opportunity to engage their existing fundholders and broaden their horizons.” The Greater Bristol Foundation will undertake all management of the new group for the 5% fee which the Funding Network currently takes.

The Network reports that a Scottish group is also likely to be set up this summer.
