Directory enquiries line raises over £18,500 for charity

The 118 499 charity directory enquiries service from Share Communications has raised over £18,500 so far for Barnardo’s and the British Red Cross.
For every call to the 118 449 service 5p is shared between the two charities. So far the service has handled over 318,000 calls.
Although at least one other provider launched its 118 number with a pledge to donate a proportion of proceeds to charity, 118 499 is the only directory enquiry service that has pledged to continue this model indefinitely.
