Outcome funding explained

Howard Lake | 17 June 2003 | News

Luke FitzHerbert at the Directory of Social Change has put together a briefing on ‘outcome funding’, the new approach by some major funders such as the Community Fund.

Outcome funding moves the emphasis from supporting activities to the outcomes that these activities are designed to achieved. It might sound like hair-splitting, but some large funders are keen on the concept. To some extent the phrase involves a back-to-basics approach and is not exactly new, but the move to “evidence based funding” is something that fundraisers need to be aware of.

Luke FitzHerbert guides fundraisers through this trend in a very practical briefing.
