Voluntary and Community Sector Census Day nears in Northern Ireland

Howard Lake | 4 September 2002 | News

NICVA is encouraging voluntary and community organisations in Northern Ireland to send them details about their work for the ‘Census Day’ on 10 September.

NICVA has been asked by the Voluntary and Community Unit (VCU) in the Department for Social Development to develop a database of core information about voluntary and community organisations in Northern Ireland.

The information collected through the Census will be used to inform the proposed Task Force on Resourcing the Voluntary and Community Sector. It will also be used to assist in future government grant-making: participating organisations will receive a Unique Reference Number (URN) which will be at some point need to be quoted on any application for government funding.
