A San Francisco marketing company has declared 3 April “Back the Web Day” in an effort to support the troubled dot com sector. Fortunately they are encouraging people not only to buy online on the day but also to donate to charities online.

It’s a shame that the company thinks that the use of the Web itself is a subject worthy of an appeal, but if it encourages more people to try out giving online
