Has the National Lottery affected the level of public giving to charities? It is still a hotly disputed issue. We may soon get another chance to find out.

In a report published today the Commons culture, media and sport select committee is calling on the National Lottery Commission to investigate the effect of the National Lottery on charities’ income.
