Concern Fast 2000 uses Web

The Concern Fast 2000 was “a tremendous success across Ireland” according to Anderson Manning Associates (AMA) who designed and operated the first Web site for the campaign. As a result of the Web site, participants in the 2000 Fast included people from England, Germany, Hungary and the USA who all registered on-line at the specially designed site. Over 56,000 people took part in the Fast.

Comedian Patrick Kielty and TV chef Paul Rankin are currently working with AMA to encourage donors to send in their money before the 28 February deadline.

Fintan Bradley, Director, Charity Services, AMA Group, who co-ordinate the Concern Fast activity said: “The response to the Concern 2000 Fast has been phenomenal and we have been delighted with the level of activity from participants whose numbers are well up from 1999. We feel that this can be partly attributed to the development of an individual website which allowed people to register for the Fast on line.”
