Charities should prepare for media scrutiny

Stuart Etherington, Chief Executive of the National Council for Voluntary Organisations, has warned charities to prepare for increased media scrutiny. Speaking at the annual Kingston Smith charity lecture at the CHASE exhibition in London, Etherington said the sector had to invest in self-regulation and develop its own high standards of practice in areas like fundraising.
