BT Friends and Family to help three charities

Howard Lake | 22 December 2000 | News

For the third year running British Telecom is encouraging its customers to donate their Friends and Family scheme discounts to charity during December. Marie Curie Cancer Care, the Stroke Association, and the National Meningitis Trust were the successful applicants who will receive funding to enhance their Web presences. BT expects to raise £3m for the charities, to which it will add a further £1m. If all Friends and Family scheme users donated their savings the scheme could raise £29m.

Last year's recipient, Childline, received £1.5m.
