Boost for children's and international charities

Howard Lake | 18 July 2000 | News

The Chancellor’s comprehensive spending review yesterday included good news for children’s and international development charities. A new children’s fund will have a budget of £100m increasing to £200m by 2003-4. Charities will receive £70m of this fund directly in grants over the next three years.

The Department for International Development will receive a 6.2% budget increase after inflation, some of which will be granted to overseas aid and development charities.
