Getting started with Bluesky for charities

NetAid launches today

NetAid is designed to be the LiveAid of the Internet. The Web site launches today as part of a global anti-poverty initiative. With IT support from Cisco and KPMG and an impressive array of international performers, the live concert on 9th October and online fundraising are expected to be the most ambitious use of the Internet to raise funds to date.

The first visitors to the site were President Bill Clinton, former South African President Nelson Mandela and Prime Minister Tony Blair. Read the NetAid press release on the launch.

The site gives details on various national telephone numbers on which to make donations if you live outside the US. Unfortunately, there doesn’t appear to be one for UK residents! This is a significant omission given that one of the three concert venues is Wembley.
