Michael Gilbert, publisher of the Nonprofit Online News, has spotted that nearly one quarter of the winners of the 1999 US Webby Awards have .org or non-profit domains. It would seem that, in the USA at least, the online achievements of non-profits are being publicly recognised. Most encouragingly, the Webby awards were based on the votes both of Internet industry leaders and pundits, and of the general public.
