New Year's Honours for fundraisers?

Looks like Gordon Brown has been trying to increase the proportion of awards going to voluntary sector workers in this year's Queen's New Year's Honours List.

Poppy Appeal collector wins Legion gold award for service

Congratulations to Betty Reed, 81, from Brighton for 40 years of local fundraising. She received the Royal British Legion's gold award for service in recognition of her 40 years of voluntary support for the appeal.

Her husband, Peter Reed, a disabled ex-serviceman, died 38 years ago. Since then, she has been supported by the charity.

There's still time to earn income from supporters' online shopping

Ordnance Survey opens up its map data to nonprofits for free
