Howard Lake | 20 September 2012 | News

Lloyds TSB Foundation Northern Ireland increased its grant giving from £1.966 million to £2.129 million last year, according to its latest annual report.
The Foundation is one of Northern Ireland’s largest grant givers, with a particular emphasis on social and community needs and education and training. While the Foundation has an international grants programme, the standard grants programme is the largest source of funding for community organisations.
The annual report for 2011 shows that under the standard grants programme 152 grants or 47% of grants were allocated to community service with other grants made to advice services (9%), disability (10%), promotion of health (13%), civic responsibility (4%), cultural enrichment (7%) and education and training (10%).
The total number of grants made was 327, with most in the range of £3 – £5000.
Lloyds increased grant giving reduced their reserves by £200,000 from 2010 to around £2.6 million.
The Foundation’s next deadline for grant applications is 12 October 2012.
