Giles Pegram course covers the 'stretch gift'

Howard Lake | 8 March 2012 | News

Major gift specialist and former NSPCC Appeals Director Giles Pegram is presenting his popular course on how to ask for £1 million in a new format, appropriate for charities for whom £1 million is unlikely but who still want to secure major gifts. The new course describes these large gifts as “stretch gifts”.
Pegram explained: “I have always known that our ability to ask for a stretch gift is where we really fall down in the fundraising process. Last year I did a course “How to ask for £1m”. I did it 19 times and got very good feedback. The one thing people did ask for was some more content for organisations and fundraisers for whom £1m is never going to happen.
“So I have changed the title to “How to ask for a Stretch Gift” and modified the content so that it applies to asking for £1m, or asking a lower level donor for £10k.
As with his original course, Pegram is offering to refund the fee if participants do not feel that they have benefited from the course.
The course takes place in London on 12 June and 12 November 2012.
