New Chair elected at CFRE International

Howard Lake | 18 January 2012 | News

Jim Caldarola has been elected as Chair of Certified Fund Raising Executives (CFRE) International, the global provider of certification in professional fundraising. Originally elected to the CFRE Board in December 2009, he has been a CFRE since 1999 and has previously chaired the organisation’s Strategic Planning Committee.
The same Board meeting in December also saw three new Board members elected: Sharon Gleason, CFRE, ACFRE; Marnie Hill, CFRE; and Judy Markoe. They were chosen by CFRE certificants from around the world during online balloting in October 2011. Board members are elected annually on a rotating basis to serve a three year term.
Caldarole is joined on the Board by Janice Gow Pettey, CFRE as Secretary Treasurer and Phil Schumacher, CFRE as Vice Chair. Sharilyn Hale, CFRE moved into the role of Immediate Past Chair.
To become a CFRE, practitioners must meet established eligibility requirements and pass an examination. They must then recertify every three years to demonstrate their continued expertise and currency in professional fundraising.
