New charity lottery launched in N Ireland
Charities are being invited to join a new fundraising initiative to raise money from society lotteries in Northern Ireland.
On the back of a research study and feasibility plan conducted by nFundraising last year, a new not-for-profit social enterprise called Good Raffle C.I.C. has been established to run a new raffle game for Northern Ireland featuring a range of weekly, monthly and seasonal games returning proceeds to good causes.
Good Raffle hopes one day to maximise the legal proceeds limit of £1 million per charity per year. It is understood that two household name N. Ireland charities are already in the scheme.

Raffle tickets will be sold online and offline through Good Raffle terminals and payment can be taken with cash or credit/debit card, including contactless payments. Tickets are entered at the point of sale equipment and support will be provided by Good Raffle, including training and support for fundraisers, volunteers and support groups.
Good Raffle will also support charities wishing to run legal and compliant raffles, lotteries and ballots in Northern Ireland and can be brought in to advise your charity in relation to its lotteries or to provide training.
Nifundraising, which is run by consultant Neil Irwin, has shown a number of society and private lotteries are being run against best practice or are non-compliant and this will be harder to sustain with more monitoring by the Charity Commission and Fundraising Regulator.
Good Raffle is particularly interested in medium to large Northern Ireland charities for this opportunity and there would be greater priority given to applications from charities with charity shops or a large number of community events run across the year.
