NI Fundraising Institute launches new media seminars

The Institute of Fundraising NI has launched their new series of Lunchtime Bites on the theme of ‘Fundraising through New Media’.
Organised in association with Txt2Give, the series aims to give fundraisers in Northern Ireland the opportunity to increase their income through some very modern methods of fundraising.
The seminars will focus on the opportunities for fundraising using social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter, how to improve online giving and how to take a fundraising appeal to the next level through text donations.
Marcus Cooper, Chair, Institute of Fundraising NI said: “Charities can no longer afford to rely on the old methods of fundraising. The world is changing very fast and fundraisers need to be aware of the vast potential of social media and how they can harness it for their cause. Facebook signed up over 100 million users in under 12 months – it took TV 13 years to reach 50 million users and the internet 4 years.
“The opportunities for fundraising are there and our lunchtime seminars will give fundraisers the chance to hear from some of the leading practitioners in the UK”.
