Age Concern and Help the Aged appoint Paul Farthing as Director of Fundraising

Paul Farthing is to join Age Concern and Help the Aged in March as its new Director of Fundraising. He takes up his position as the organisation prepares to become ‘Age UK’ after its merger last year.
He joins the charity from Cancer Research UK (CRUK), where he was Director of High Value Relationships and before that Director of Legacies. He also has previous agency experience of working with both Age Concern and Help the Aged.
Tom Wright, Chief Executive of Age Concern and Help the Aged, said: “We are delighted to welcome Paul to the Charity at this exciting time. His distinguished career spanning 20 years in fundraising and marketing will prove extremely valuable in helping us realise our ambitions.”
Age UK will have a turnover of more than £150 million. In addition to campaigning and influencing‚ its work will include providing information and advice to over 5 million people‚ commercial services for over 1.1 million customers and more than 15 million customer transactions through over 500 retail shops.
