Howard Lake | 10 February 2010 | News

The Board of Directors of INTERIGHTS are pleased to announce that on 15 February 2010 Danny Silverstone will take up the post of INTERIGHTS’ Executive Director. He takes over from Jeremy McBride, the organisation’s Chair who has also been acting as interim Executive Director.
Danny has worked extensively on equality and diversity policies and programmes in the United Kingdom and, in particular, was the Chief Executive of the former Commission for Racial Equality. He has also led a statutory grant maker with an annual budget of £28,000,000 and has had a senior level local government career which included chief officer roles in education, diversity and human resources. Most recently Danny was chief executive of London Remade, an environmental not for profit business active in sustainable procurement, waste and recycling. He has extensive senior management and leadership experience, much of which has been gained in complex and highly regulated environments.
Danny holds a BA (Hons.) in Politics from Sussex University and an MA in Government from the University of Manchester. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and sits on the Boards of several organisations.
Jeremy McBride said “We are delighted by this appointment. The Board look forward to working with Danny to ensure that INTERIGHTS manages not only to sustain its position as a leader in international human rights litigation but also to ensure that it is well placed to face future challenges and opportunities.”
Danny Silverstone said “I am very pleased to have the opportunity to lead such a dynamic human rights organisation. I look forward to working with both staff and Board colleagues to ensure INTERIGHTS can capitalise on recent achievements and continue the work for which it is so highly regarded.”
