Future leaders in food supply chain charities invited to apply for funding & mentoring

Entries are open for a programme offering funding and mentoring to future leaders working in charities in the global food supply chain.
Applications for the Emerging Leaders programme, which is sponsored by Eden Search & Select, will close on 31 January*.
The programme is designed to help the next generation of leadership talent in agritech, fresh produce and food manufacturing charities realise their full potential. In its inaugural year, the programme is offering one future leader the chance to access £3000 of funding to help pay for an academic qualification, a vocational course, or a research project that will make a genuine difference to the industry they work in; plus four mentoring sessions with industry leaders.

A series of mentoring sessions are also on offer for two additional applicants.
The Emerging Leaders programme is being led by Richard Macdonald, who is Non-Executive Chairman of Eden Search & Select, and Deputy Chair of the Environment Agency.
Individuals working within a not-for-profit organisation or charity in agritech, fresh, protein and plant-based, food manufacturing sectors in the UK or internationally can apply. They must also demonstrate significant experience in senior management, have experienced rapid career progression and have a clear view of the external support they require to continue the trajectory into leadership/board positions.
To enter, applicants should send their CV and a 500-word summary, answering the following questions:
- What are the challenges you would like to solve within the industry?
- What training / development would you need to achieve this?
- Why will this make a difference to you and the industry in the longer term?
All applicants also need to confirm they are supported by a company ‘sponsor’, and applications should be emailed to em*************@ed********.uk.

The deadline for applications to the inaugural Emerging Leaders program has been extended by four weeks to 28 February 2022 – giving the next generation of leaders working in charities and not-for-profit organisations in the food supply chain more time to apply for funding and mentoring.
