Gordan’s group hug wins the day…

Drat, instead of watching the world’s financial markets collapse back into ground zero, I’m going to have to watch Jamie Oliver this evening.
Suddenly, zillions of pounds appear out of the ether and get buried in banks – I’m all for nationalisation (please, the Railways, quickly, cheap tickets, less cars, less global warm-up, quickly); but couldn’t it have gone to those in danger of defaulting, then they could have kept up their committed giving too.
But if you really want to know how our donors will behave next year check the fashion blogs. This is real barometer of social stress and potential poverty. My favourite is the aptly named Susie Bubble, who incidentally just made it onto the Evening Standards Most Influential list for those who missed it:
