Professional services firm Deloitte is supporting Southampton-based charity the Sailors’ Society in the first of what is expected to become an annual fundraising event.
The Deloitte and Sailors’ Society Cycle 2008 will be launched on 1 July at the new City Cruise Terminal in Southampton’s West Docks. Associated British Ports and Blake Lapthorn Tarlo Lyons will also be sponsoring the event, along with a number of other local companies.
The charity cycle event will take place on Sunday 5th October.
Simon Miles, Business Development Manager for the Southampton office of Deloitte added: “The idea for the event came from Deloitte’s St Alban’s office, who have held an annual charity cycle ride for many years, and raised significant sums for charity.
“…We strongly believe in supporting locally-based initiatives and the fact that the Sailors’ Society does so much for the port of Southampton, and more than 90 other of her international sister ports, is important to us. It’s also great to be involved in a community event, which brings families together to do something that’s healthy and fun.”
