The Institute of Fundraising launch Trustees guide to Fundraising

The Institute of Fundraising has launched a new definitive guide for charity trustees – The Trustees Guide to Fundraising. This new Guide, funded by the Institute’s tax-effective giving initiative, includes updated and revised fundraising information and details on trustee obligations.

The Guide takes into account the recent changes in law as part of the Charities Act 2006, as well as the self-regulatory scheme for fundraising.

The Guide is in response to fundraisers need to ensure their trustees are fully engaged in the fundraising process – and contains significant detail on all the elements of fundraising which require the understanding of – and buy in from – trustees. The Trustees Guide to Fundraising includes sections on:

– Trustee obligations
– Sustainable future planning
– Fundraising techniques and principles
– Tax-effective giving
– Law, ethics and fundraising

A limited number of free copies are available from the Institute of Fundraising, with guides thereafter charged at a rate of £10 each for non-members of the Institute of Fundraising, and £5 per copy for Institute of Fundraising members. The Guide is also available to download from the Institute of Fundraising.
