The Foundation for Social Improvement (FSI) will deliver 960 learning opportunities for free across the UK for Local Charities Day, MP Rob Wilson has announced.
In an announcement given on 7th November, Wilson stated that, in the run up to the day, which takes place on 16th December the Local Charities Training Programme will see the FSI deliver over 560 face to face training places in key fundraising topics in eight cities across the UK. The FSI sessions will be an hour long, and will be located in London, Newcastle. Bristol. Manchester, Ipswich, Birmingham, Leeds, and Brighton.
Additionally, on Local Charities Day itself 20 webinars with 400 places will be made available, along with a Twitter Q&A and toolkits and resources on a wide range of subjects.
Local Charities Day was announced by the Government earlier this year, and aims to raise awareness and help local charities get the recognition they deserve.
Rob Wilson MP said:

“Local Charities Day is a time when we can all shout from the rooftops about small, local charities and the amazing work they do.  Their energy, commitment, passion and expertise is clear, the benefits they bring to communities is not only undeniable but also invaluable, so let’s make it our mission to celebrate their work.”

Pauline Broomhead, CEO at the FSI added:
