2,051 small charities participated in the events during this year’s Small Charity Week, which took place between 13th and 18th June.
1,791 people pledged their support during I Love Small Charities Day, which took place on 13th June, with 1,478 individuals submitting photos and reaching over one million through a Thunderclap, causing Small Charity Week to trend on Twitter for seven hours.
The digital campaign #Ilovesmallcharities called upon fans of small charities to post photos to Facebook, Twitter and Instagram with messages of support in exchange for up to £450 in cash prizes. Supporters could also pledge their support for small charities by signing up to the Thunderclap.

Events taking place throughout the UK on each day of the week included a Big Advice Day and Fundraising Day.
Pauline Broomhead, CEO of the FSI, which organises the week, commented:

“Small charities make up 97% of the sector and yet their work is often overlooked and voices lost in the press and on social media. We are delighted with the volume of small charities and individuals who got involved – it is a great chance for small charities to engage with the public and get the attention they deserve for their fantastic work”.
