Jo Cox MP appeal is “largest and fastest growing UK campaign” on GoFundMe

The charity fundraising appeal in celebration and memory of the life of Jo Cox has become “the largest and fastest growing UK campaign” on crowdfunding site GoFundMe.
The campaign raised over £550,000 in just over one day. In its first four hours it raised over £62,000, which jumped to over £150,000 after seven hours on Friday. It currently stands at £766,000, donated in just over two days, consisting of 24,367 donations.

The previous largest campaign on the site was #Donate4Mike, which raised £452,511, of which £430,000 was raised in nine days.
The record for the largest and fastest growing crowdfunding appeal anywhere in the world on GoFundMe to date was also set this week. In six days $5.4m was donated to the GoFundMe campaign for the victims of the Orlando Pulse mass shooting.
