World’s Biggest Coffee Morning breaks fundraising record
Macmillan Cancer Support 2015 World’s Biggest Coffee Morning raised its biggest ever total of £27.6 million, the charity has announced.
It brings the event’s overall fundraising total since launch to over £165 million.
The 25th annual coffee morning took place on Friday 25 September 2015 sand saw the number of registered hosts reach over 225,000, and trend on Twitter throughout the day with over 30,000 tweets.
This year the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is on Friday 30th September, and sees M&S back as headline partner for the seventh year after it raising a record total of £1.6million in 2015.
Macmillan’s executive director of fundraising, marketing and communications, Richard Taylor said:
“I’d like to thank every single one of our wonderful coffee morning hosts and guests who took part last year and helped us celebrate the 25th World’s Biggest Coffee Morning by raising such an enormous amount of money. The event is so simple but really resonates with people who continue to come together to drink coffee, eat cake and raise vital funds which will help valuable Macmillan services and professionals ensure no one faces cancer alone.”
