Horsing around for the Red Cross

The British Red Cross has been given one of its strangest donations in the form of a racehorse.
Fortunately it doesn’t have physically to stable and look after the animal, but will be the recipient of any winnings the thoroughbred brings in over the next three years (less stabling costs).
The six-year-old grey gelding named Topinambour will race in Red Cross colours and was donated to the charity by Warrington businessman Dave Watson. His father was a great believer in the Red Cross and Watson said: This is my way of remembering my Dad and giving something back to a great organisation.

The horse has already raced 15 times in France and has some winnings to his name. The Red Cross hopes he will race at Aintree in November.
