Trustee Conference to take place on 22 June

This year’s Trustee Conference will take place on 22 June 2006 at the Royal Society of Arts, London. The one-day conference is aimed at trustees and senior staff in charities who want to develop their governance to the highest standards.

The annual event is being organised by accountants and consultants Sayer Vincent, fundraising and management consultancy and training The Projects Company, and solicitors Russell-Cooke, the charity law specialists.

The keynote speaker is Baroness Sally Greengross who will address “Getting Governance Right”. The Chief Executive of the Charity Commission, Andrew Hind, will provide an update on current issues from the Commission.

There will also be a range of updates and information sessions specifically for trustees to help them in their stewardship role. Topics to be covered include:

• Effective governance policies
• Key employment areas for trustees
• The role of the trustees in fundraising

• Questions to ask fundraisers
• Financial reports
• Advice for the new trustee
• Developing a sophisticated board

The one-day event costs £180. All profits will be donated to charities chosen by the speakers.
