TLC Lottery, one of Britain’s biggest charity lotteries, is launching a ‘play as you pay’ scheme to companies, with the public support of the Director General of the CBI.

In a speech to more than 100 business and union leaders, Sir Digby Jones will endorse TLC’s plans to encourage companies and their employees to take part in the weekly lottery through regular, small donations.

The scheme is the first of its type in Britain, giving players choice about which charities benefit from much of the money raised.

More than 60 causes now benefit from TLC following its decision to launch the first open door policy in the UK earlier this year. With almost 16,000 weekly players, it has already raised more than £1.7m for groups like Macmillan Cancer Relief, Alzheimer’s Society, Barnardos and Little Hearts Matter.
