Health company announces new €1 million grant fund
Health technology company Medtronic has established a €1 million grant fund to be distributed over three years for health projects in Ireland.
The company says that the funding will support innovative ideas on how to remove barriers to healthcare in under served Irish communities. Medtronic has a presence in the west of Ireland, the midlands and Dublin where it has supported community projects previously.
Medtronic says it will work in partnership with the Community Foundation of Ireland and the Ireland Funds for this new grant programme.
Dr Jacob Gayle, vice president of Medtronic Philanthropy, said they were looking for projects which encourage new ideas for healthcare services from community based organisations while encouraging partnerships.
Community-based organisations can register interest for participation at

Medtronic Philanthropy is wholly funded by Medtronic, Inc., which includes a charitable contribution to the Medtronic Foundation.
In 2013 Medtronic, which is headquartered in the United States, provided grants of over $64 million, 25% of which went to international causes.
