Happy Halloween fundraising with a penny pumpkin

Howard Lake | 31 October 2014 | Blogs

It’s a little late for Halloween fundraising ideas, I admit, but today’s video from The Royal Mint might present an idea for next year.

Their Engraver Laura Clancy has created a ‘Coin Canvas’of a ‘Penny Pumpkin’ to mark Halloween today. It is not intended as a fundraising campaign, but that’s certainly what I saw in it.

It’s not on the scale of penny fundraising campaigns like March of Dimes and the like, but it might make a good collecting idea for schools or local groups. How big can the Penny Pumpkin grow? Who can create the largest one?

The Royal Mint is encouraging the public to share its creations with the hashtag #pennypumpkin.
