Irish philanthropy nominations open
The Community Foundation for Ireland is inviting nominations for its 2014 Philanthropist of the Year Awards.
Categories for nominations include national, international and corporate philanthropist of the Year. The awards, now in their seventh year, aim to publicly recognise people and companies whose giving has made an outstanding and lasting contribution in their communities and to society.
Nominations are invited from the general public, including community and voluntary organisations, charities, welfare groups, arts and sports bodies, churches and foundations that work in partnership with philanthropists and have knowledge of the value and impact of the contribution and benefit that a donor has made.
The award categories are:
- Philanthropist of the Year-Ireland: For people whose philanthropy is focused on projects of a significant scale in Ireland, either at a national or local level
- Philanthropist of the Year-International: For Irish philanthropists whose giving is focused outside Ireland, for example in developing countries
- Philanthropist of the Year-Corporate: For corporates whose philanthropy is focused on local, regional or national projects in Ireland or overseas projects, or a mix of some or all of these.
Nomination forms and guidelines can be downloaded from the Community Foundation for Ireland‘s website. The closing date for nominations is 20 October 2014.
