Charities' TLC Lottery encourages employees to play through their salary

Howard Lake | 23 October 2005 | News

TLC Lottery today launched a work-based scheme, unique in Britain, that allows employees to both play a lottery and choose which charities benefit from the money raised.

Employees in participating firms will be invited to play the weekly lottery, at £1 a go, paid straight from their wages.

They can nominate whichever charity or good cause they would like to see become a beneficiary. It will receive 45p each time they play, with a similar amount going to TLC’s three owner charities. Much of the remaining 10p goes on a prize pool that hands out weekly prizes of up to £1,000.
