Action Planning – Demonstrating Outcomes workshop

Howard Lake | 11 September 2013 | News

Overview

This popular one-day workshop is designed to help charities to improve their understanding of outcomes and how they can be measured to demonstrate social value to stakeholders.

Funders are increasingly demanding evidence from charities of the outcomes they deliver. Some outputs and 'hard' outcomes are relatively straightforward to measure but it can be more difficult to demonstrate the qualitative changes to the lives of service users.

Great Fundraising Organizations book - available now

This intensive, one-day workshop is designed to help you to measure these ‘soft’ outcomes and demonstrate the true value of your work.

Core Content

The workshop will focus on the following areas:

– Defining terms: inputs, outputs, impact

– Outcomes, indicators and targets

– Data collection tools

– Monitoring and evaluation

– Reporting outcomes and using them in bids for funding

It will provide you with a range of participatory evaluation tools which can show just how far your clients, volunteers and beneficiaries have come since being involved with your project.

It will also provide an understanding of how outcomes can benefit the whole organisation, not just the fundraising function, to understand the difference your services make and to develop them to make more effective use of resources and increase benefit to your service users.

Who should attend

This workshop will be of particular value to organisations working in social care, housing, health and disability, children and young people, employment, faith-based projects and international development – which often work with soft outcomes and change lives in ways which few funders fully appreciate.

Trainer profile

Dawn Wood is an experienced consultant who has worked with a number of organisations to help them develop systems for outcomes measurement and has extensive experience in this field.
