Howard Lake | 5 September 2013 | Blogs

Diabetes UK have today shown how easy it is to thank and encourage their event fundraisers in public using a combination of scissors, colour photocopies, Instagram and Vine.

@missjengrieves is cycling from London to Paris to raise funds for the charity. To inspire her and the other cyclists, the Diabetes UK team have created some homemade photos and a video.

They even showed the before and after stage of producing the quick video, sharing the images on Instagram.com.

Of course, charities don't have time to thank all supporters in this individual way. But these image-based thank you's have a habit of being shared, bringing the message to the supporters' friends and family at least, and often further afield. While it uses an image of just one supporter, the message is for all the event participants.

Diabetes UK were among the earliest adopters of short video format service Vine, and are clearly continuing to use it to engage with their supporters.
