Holocaust trust becomes charity in time for VE Day anniversary
The Charity Commission registered the Holocaust Memorial Day Trust today in time for VE Day on 8 May.
The trust honours the memory of those killed in the concentration camps of the Second World War.
Andrew Hind, Chief Executive of the Charity Commission, said: “We were pleased that we were able to act quickly enough to set up this new charity in time for the 60th anniversary commemorations of the Second World War. As the charity sector grows it is becoming increasingly diverse and the Holocaust Memorial Day Trust, with its unique objectives, illustrates this.”
