Nominations open for 2013 Social Change Awards
The Directory of Social Change is now inviting nominations for its 2013 Social Change Awards. These are designed to recognise those who are working to achieve a positive change in society.
Nominations can be made for individuals, charities, community groups, funders, companies, and public bodies. You can nominate others or even nominate yourself or your own organisation.
This year sees a new award category, The Rising Star Award, for young people up to 25 years old who have made an impact in their organisation or community.

All the categories could probably apply to fundraisers, donors or grantmakers. There is, however, one in particular for grantmakers. The Great Giving* Funders Award is for funders (trusts, foundations, companies, etc) that "demonstrate a clear understanding of their beneficiaries and funding environment".
Nominations for the 2013 Social Change Awards close on Sunday 16 September 2013.
The DSC's judging panel will select three shortlist nominees for each category and they will be presented for the public vote in October. Winners and runners-up of each category will receive a personalised, framed drawing from Grizelda during the Social Change Awards Ceremony in December.
DSC often styles these awards as different from many others in the charity sector. There is no monetary award for finalists or winners and the awards ceremony takes a much more informal approach than some of the other black tie events.
