The NSPCC is the latest charity to announce that its appeal for old European notes and coins has performed very well.

Over £1 million has been raised for the NSPCC’s ‘Change for Kids’ appeal which took advantage of the introduction of the Euro in many European countries and asked people to donate their now old and worthless European currency.

With support from Alliance & Leicester and The Sun newspaper, coins and notes weighing over 70 tons were handed in.
