Canadian nonprofit sector second largest in Johns Hopkins survey

Canada has the second largest nonprofit and voluntary sector among the 37 countries surveyed to date by the Johns Hopkins University Comparative Nonprofit Sector Project.

The nonprofit and voluntary sector represents 11.1% of the economically active population in Canada, compared to 9.8% in the US and 8.5% in the UK.

The figures are contained in “The Canadian Nonprofit and Voluntary Sector in Comparative Perspective Report”, published as part of the Johns Hopkins University Comparative Nonprofit Sector Project.
