Parents raise and donate £120m a year for schools
Parents are raising £56 million a year to supplement the budgets of state schools, according to the National Confederation of Parent Teacher Associations (NCPTA).
The NCPTA says that parents donate a further £64 million a year in cash, donated goods such as books and stationery, and voluntary work. Fundraising activities include car boot sales, social events and raffles, according to The Daily Mirror.
